How Scale Your Travel Blog Affected My Blog

First off, why should you trust me when I’m talking about travel blogging courses in 2023?

If you are like me and have dreams of turning your travels into a full-time salary, leaving your corporate 9-5 job, and being your own boss then, then this is for you.

If you already blog but haven’t seen the success that you wanted like consistent traffic and money, then this is also for you.

The Start of My Travel Blog

I started my travel blog in 2018 with no direction, skills, or even understanding of what goes into a blog. After a long pause in 2020 to seriously consider my purpose, I saw that travel bloggers were still making a go at travel blogging in 2021.

And I literally thought to myself, “If they can still make money travel blogging after the world just shut down, I can do it, too.”

Picking back up on where I left off on my blog in 2018 (3 measly posts all about me), I started investing in travel blogging courses. But investing in Laura’s travel blogging course has definitely had the biggest impact on scaling my travel blog (see what I did there 😉).

Through Scale Your Travel Blog, I’ve gained SEO skills to confidently publish posts that will rank in the top 10 on Google, learned how to gain backlinks, and learned how to monetize my blog.

My Current Blogging Stats

HWW Comparison of January 2022 to January 2023
Comparison of January 2022 to January 2023
  • To date, my travel blog went from 3 blog posts in 2018 to 137 SEO-optimized blog posts. I went from 0 pageviews to now 100,000+, and my traffic has just continued to increase by leaps and bounds!
  • In complete transparency, I made about $93.36 from my travel blog at the end of 2022. It’s not the numbers I was hoping for after a full year of intentional blogging.
  • But, I have been able to join an ad network and all my affiliate links are receiving clicks and are at about a 9-14% conversion rate. I intend to switch my focus from content generation to monetization.
  • Even though I haven’t made it to the 6-figures I’ve been envisioning for myself just yet, there are several students in Scale Your Travel Blog who have made it and credited their success to the course. I hope to rank among them soon!

What is Included in Scale Your Travel Blog to Six Figures

9 Modules with 43 Video Lessons

The course is made up of 9 modules with 43 video lessons that walk through how to set up your blog the right way, an in-depth look at SEO, and various ways of monetizing your blog.

The topics of monetization include email marketing, sponsorships, advertisements, affiliate marketing, and more.

The great thing about the videos is that you’ll be able to watch how Laura does the same thing for her successful blog as her videos literally walk you through her process.

Customized Site Audit: 1-on-1 Coaching

One of the biggest reasons why I signed up for Scale Your Travel Blog is Laura’s customized site audit where she will review your blog from the homepage to blog posts, on-page and off-page SEO, and backlinking to give you action points to improve your website.

This has helped me so much as Laura takes time to go through my own unique improvements and how I can make my blog even better.

Her site audit is very comprehensive and you can purchase 1-on-1 coaching with Laura, too! This was what I wanted and needed–to hear someone point out all my mistakes and help me improve.

Because of Laura’s focus on my website, I’ve been able to find a niche, understand writing for an audience, and the technicalities of fonts, spacing, and formatting.

Done for You Keywords

Keywords are what drive traffic to your website. Laura is a BEAST at finding keywords to increase your traffic!

It doesn’t matter if you have no clue where to start with keywords or have been doing it for a while, Laura does her best to find you 25 keywords with a low difficulty of ranking in the top 10 on Google.

The great thing about these keywords is that they can provide you with more insight and ideas for finding them yourself. It can be intimidating if you’ve never done keyword research before, but don’t worry because Laura also goes over how she finds them in Scale Your Travel Blog!

You have the ability to request these keywords when you’re ready for them. So if you’re just starting off, you don’t have to get them right away.

Done for You Blog Post Outlines and Reviews

On top of the keywords, you’ll also receive 6 blog post outlines from Laura when you sign up for Scale Your Travel Blog. She’ll provide you with headers and structure. She’ll most likely give you a word count for each post as well. All you have to do is add your voice and hit publish!

You’ll also be able to submit published 4 blog posts for review. Laura will go over your blog and improve SEO keywords and give pointers on how to make that post rank in the top 10. One of my own blog posts is currently ranking in the top 3 of Google because of Laura’s help!

Same with the keywords, you have the ability to request blog post outlines and reviews when you are ready for them. You also don’t need to use them all up at once. Laura and her team will track your requests for you.

Access to Scale Your Travel Blog Group on Facebook

When you join Scale Your Travel Blog, you gain access to Laura’s Facebook group with over 300 other travel bloggers who are all working on scaling their blogs. The group is extremely supportive, resourceful, and active.

Everyone in the group is so willing to help each other grow! The great thing about the Facebook group is that you’ll gain access to a number of people who are on different parts of the travel blogging journey.

I was so excited to find out that there were advanced travel bloggers in the Facebook group to answer my questions and give me motivation when I had very little.

I’ve joined Facebook groups where the owners are not very active at all. But Laura is very active in the Facebook group. In fact, she regularly goes live in this Facebook group to answer questions that come up!

Group Coaching

One great aspect of Scale Your Travel Blog is the group coaching calls that are scheduled monthly. They are usually led by Laura or another expert in travel blogging.

Personally, I’ve joined the calls about affiliate marketing, email marketing, and getting backlinks to my blog. This is truly a way to continue growing your knowledge beyond the video lessons.

Once the calls are finished, you’ll receive a replay of the group coaching call and be able to have lifetime access to it. There is a limit of 12 coaching calls you can get on at any time, but you are also able to purchase more if you run through your allotted number.

Q&A Sessions

If everything listed here isn’t enough, you’ll also get an allotted 6 formal first-come first-served question-and-answer sessions through zoom. This is where you have Laura’s undivided attention to ask her anything you want about your blog.

On top of these formal sessions, Laura does bonus Q&A sessions live on Facebook weekly. As I mentioned, she is very active in the Facebook group! You can pose as many questions as you’d like and she’ll take the time to go through them with everyone.

Community Through Coffee Hour

On top of just getting all the goods from Laura, you’ll also be able to get to know other bloggers through Coffee Hour. This is a 1-hour group video chat where it’s all fun, games, and networking!

This is a great time to get to know other people and talk about more than just travel blogging. This journey can be a lonely one, so it’s awesome to connect with other like-minded people!

Refund Policy for Scale Your Travel Blog

The vast majority of people who have purchased Scale Your Travel Blog have been happy. But if that happens to not be you, then you can receive a refund within 30 days of purchasing the course.

How are the courses set up?

SYTB thrivecart platform

You’ll access the course through the platform Teachable Thrivecart, which is very easy to use. Every module and video is titled so that you can quickly access them whenever you need to.

The video lessons in the modules are already prepared (not live) so you can watch them whenever you’d like (or binge-watch them as I did!). Each module will also let you know if there is a resource you can download.

You’ll have lifetime access to the courses even when Laura updates the material.

Why I Absolutely Love Scale Your Travel Blog

I joined Scale Your Travel Blog in August 2021 and it was hands-down one of the best decisions I’ve made for my travel blog. I’ve been through numerous other blogging courses and I have to say this is the most comprehensive, thorough, and well-thought-out course I’ve come across.

Laura’s strength is mastering SEO. You’ll hear her geek out about SEO as she can talk about it for days. It’s her passion that draws you into her courses and makes you believe that you can succeed, too!

It’s evident that Laura puts a lot of time into her course because she keeps it updated with the latest information, strategies, tips, and tricks. Her teaching style is also straightforward and very easy to follow.

Not only that, but Laura truly cares about your success as a travel blogger. She is personable and always approachable. The feedback and value that Laura gives alone are worth 5x more than what you pay.

Because of SEO, I have been able to gain 90% of my traffic directly from Google and not have to mess with Pinterest or social media. I could not have done this without the SEO tips I’ve learned from the course.

It’s more than enough trying to balance pushing content out, emailing my subscribers, and gaining backlinks to my website through collaborations or guest posts. If I had to also focus on social media, I would be spread very thin.

So it’s comforting to know that my SEO skills gained from Scale Your Travel Blog will drive consistent traffic to my website.

Even more, my numbers in traffic truly show that Laura’s framework and strategies work.

Criticism for Scale Your Travel Blog

I honestly can’t find many, if any, faults with Scale Your Travel Blog. I’ve been very happy with the content of the course, my success, and Laura’s style of teaching.

The only thing I can say is that Laura is one expert in the travel blogging world. She may not have all the answers to everything (no one does), but she is tenacious and she will always point you in the right direction or find someone who does have the answer.

How Much is Scale Your Travel Blog to Six Figures?

Scale Your Travel Blog is $2,497 USD and I believe it’s completely worth the investment! In fact, I believe that the value I received from Scale Your Travel Blog is 10x the cost of the course!

As I mentioned previously, I have spent a lot of money on courses, and working with Laura was the jackpot I hit. Even more valuable than the courses provide, Laura truly cares about your success.

I know the price may be a shock to some and make you hesitate especially if you are starting with a budget of $0 like I did. It’s quite a hefty price to pay when you’re not sure if everything will work out.

But consider the course as an investment into your blogging business.

Making the money back won’t be a walk in the park nor will it happen overnight, but with hard work and dedication to Laura’s strategies, you will see the return.

I haven’t fully seen that return in dollars, but I have definitely seen it in my skills. And I am confident those skills are going to return in $$$ signs and cha-chings!

If you want to change the trajectory of your travel blog, I urge you to hear Laura out in her FREE live webinar and make the decision for yourself.

Scale Your Travel Blog Review

Is Scale Your Travel Blog Right for You?

I personally believe that the course is made for every travel blogger at any stage of their travel blog.

Whether you just started your travel blog or you’ve been blogging for years, Laura dives into the nitty-gritty of how to make your travel blog successful.

Laura’s signature mindset on travel blogging is setting it up the RIGHT way and mastering SEO. In doing so, you will receive consistent traffic as well as monetize your blog.

Take it directly from Laura and sign up for her FREE webinar to hear more.

Can I Sign Up if I’m not a Travel Blogger?

Absolutely, yes. Laura herself is a travel blogger, but that doesn’t mean that her strategies don’t work for other niches. In fact, not everyone who joined is a travel blogger! I have seen niches from pets to education.

Bottom line: You’ll gain SEO expertise, a community to lean on, and a blogging coach who cares about your success.

What if I’m a Beginner Blogger?

Laura has a module that walks you through how to set up your blog the RIGHT way–in fact, that is one of her mottos for Scale Your Travel Blog.

Even if you haven’t even bought your domain name yet, you’ll want to get started on the right foot, which a large part is starting your blog on WordPress.org to be self-hosted.

If you already have a blog running, you’ll be able to see how to make it even better when Laura talks about site speed, E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness), themes, and more!

What if I’m Not a Beginner Blogger?

If you’re on the other end and have been at it for a while, then the course may still be right for you. In fact, Laura encourages you to sign up for a quick 10-minute call with her so that you can see if this program would be something that helps you.

There are several intermediate and advanced bloggers who have joined Scale Your Travel Blog to Six Figures and have seen the impact that Laura has had on their website.

Who is Scale Your Travel Blog Not For?

If you’re looking for overnight success or a get-rich-quick scheme, this is NOT the course for you. Laura will give it to you straight and tell you that blogging takes time and a lot of dedication.

The strategies in the coursework do not work if you’re unwilling to put in the time or energy. Keep in mind that over 80% of bloggers quit within the first 6 months because the return is not immediate.

So, if you’re not in this for the long haul, it would be better for you to not sign up and waste your time or money.

But if you have a passion for travel, are dedicated to making your travel blog successful, and are willing to put in the work–then Scale Your Travel Blog is perfect for you.

Take it from me as someone who has been in your shoes and has come out on the other side as a more confident and successful travel blogger.

Do I need to buy a travel blogging course?

A two-part answer, yes and no.

For anything, you’ll be sacrificing something. While trying to decide if you’re going to buy a course or not, you’ll be considering either time or money.

You can spend countless hours doing your own research to become a successful travel blogger. You’ll go through trial and error trying to find good information that will benefit you before you find what works.

Or you can spend your money on someone who’s already figured it out and quickly scale your skills so that you can become a successful travel blogger in a shorter time.

It’s up to you how you’d like to invest in yourself.

I may be a little biased, but after taking all those courses (and you can ask me personally for a list of them if you’d like), I truly believe that Scale Your Travel Blog is one of the best travel blogging courses you can invest in.

Are there free travel blogging courses?

I have personally gone through Stupid Simple SEO with Mike Futia and also watched The Income School Youtube videos which helped me greatly.

But they can only do so much. I believe that having a coach to guide me was the cherry on top of purchasing a premium course.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to start a travel blog?

You don’t need to know how to code front-end and back-end to become a travel blogger. But if you can use the computer and be adaptable to new skills, you’ll succeed as a travel blogger.

Travel bloggers can make anywhere from $0 to $100k+ per month. It truly depends on yourself – how much are you wanting this to work out and then put in the hard work to get make it?

Some of the top blogs such as Nomadic Matt, The Blonde Abroad, Be My Travel Muse, and more are making thousands of dollars from their travel blogs.

If you are just starting out, you’ll probably be a $0 income at first. But this is scalable and the sky is your ceiling after that!

Is it worth starting a blog in 2023?

Absolutely, yes.

After the world shut down, travel has come back in full force. Now is the time to capitalize on that and start a travel blog.

How much does it cost to start a travel blog?

The bare minimum costs of starting a travel blog include purchasing a domain name and setting up your web hosting.

You can purchase a domain name (i.e. your www.domainname.com) for anywhere between $10- $20 a year and get started with Bluehost for $2.95 per month.

After that, it’s hard work pumping out blog posts, getting backlinks, and joining affiliate programs.
